description
Like the original 1963 Firebird VII conceived by legendary Duesenberg car designer Ray Dietrich, the 2001 Gibson Firebird VII Reissue is based on the labor-intensive nine-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through design and body-center section with solid mahogany wings for superb resonance and sustain. The neck is carved in a period-correct Firebird profile, and the genuine ebony fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets, traditional pearl block inlays.
The Gibson 1965 Firebird VII Reissue comes equipped with an ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, a Lyre Tail Maestro Vibrola with long cover, and a set of period-correct banjo tuners, which were originally included in the design to avoid spoiling the radical profile of the Firebird headstock, but also add to the Firebird VII's expressive range.
The Gibson Firebird VII also features replicas of Gibson's high-output mini humbucker producing bright and focused output, while retaining the famous Gibson® humbucker performance. All in all, it's a gorgeous tribute to Gibson’s superb craftsmanship.
